Each site has a settings panel. Open it by clicking the cog icon on its card in the Sites list, or Site settings from inside the site. The panel has three tabs: General, Manage units, and Location.
Delete site sits at the bottom left of the panel, on every tab. It permanently removes the site and all its data. This cannot be undone.
General tab
The General tab manages the core details of the site.
Cover image: choose a random cover image or upload your own. This appears on the site card in the Sites list.
Building Name: the name of the site as it appears across the platform.
Description: an optional text description to help identify the site.
Sorting ID: a number that controls where this site appears in the Sites list. Lower numbers appear first. Use this to keep your most important sites at the top.
Click Save changes to apply updates.
Manage units tab
This tab lists every area in the site under the heading Areas and units in the site, with a unit count beside each one.
Click + Add area in the top right to create one.
Click the arrow at the end of an area to open that area's own settings. From there you can rename the room, move it to a different site, give it a Sorting ID, delete it, and add sensors to it from the Add new units to this area dropdown.
To assign sensors to the site without putting them in an area, use the Add new units to this site dropdown at the bottom of the tab. Click Save changes.
Applying climate rules
Climate rules apply to sensors, not to whole sites. To put a site under a rule, add its sensors to the rule.
The quickest way is the rule wizard. Go to the Rules tab, create or edit a rule, and open Step 3: Units. Sensors are grouped by site, so clicking + Add all next to a site puts every sensor in it under the rule.
You can also work from a single sensor. Open its settings and go to the Climate Profiles tab, the app's older name for climate rules. It lists every rule watching that sensor, and lets you remove one or turn off its notifications for that sensor alone.
If you want a group of sensors monitored on their own thresholds, apply a rule to a collection instead. See What is a climate rule and What is a collection.
Location tab
The Location tab holds the site's address. Custodian uses it to fetch outdoor weather for the site, which is where the Current weather readout and the outdoor series on your graphs come from. The readings come from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute and are refreshed every hour.
A site with no address yet shows a single field, Start typing to add the building's location.
Once an address is set, the tab shows it above a map marked with its position. From there you can:
- Click the pencil icon next to the address to edit it
- Click the bin icon to remove the address
The map updates automatically when you save an address.
Click Save changes to confirm, or Cancel to discard.
A site without an address still works, but it gets no Current weather readout and nothing to compare its graphs against outdoors.
