Adding areas and units

You can add new areas and assign sensor units to a site from within Climate Analytics.

Adding an area

1. Open Table view in Climate Analytics and click Add area above the table, or go to Site settings and open the Manage units tab.
2. Enter a name for the area in the Name field.
3. Optionally select sensors to assign to it straight away using the Select sensors dropdown. You can also add sensors later.
4. Click Create Area.

The new area appears in the table view and in the Manage units panel.

Adding units to an existing area

1. Open Table view in Climate Analytics and click + Add units above the table. The Site settings panel opens.
2. Go to the Manage units tab.
3. To put a unit straight into an area, click the area and pick the unit from Add new units to this area. To add units to the site and place them in an area later, use Add new units to this site at the bottom of the tab instead.
4. Click Save changes.

Sensors that have not yet been assigned to any area appear in the Unit inventory on the Dashboard.

Areas and units can also be managed from the Site settings panel. Go to the Manage units tab to see all existing areas, move sensors between them, or delete an area.
